ABOUT FRACTIONAL LASER SKIN RESURFACING
Fractional laser skin resurfacing offers two different methods known as non-ablative and ablative. For a deeper penetration and more dramatic results, we offer ablative fractional CO2 laser resurfacing. This treatment effectively treats only a fraction of the skin at a time by producing columns of heat and light energy that penetrate down to the dermis of the skin. The laser works by thermally damaging deeper layers of the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. The surrounding skin helps the treated areas heal correctly. The laser helps to stimulate new collagen production, so skin can appear greater over time. The subsequent healing produces fresh skin that looks and feels softer and smoother.
WHAT DOES IT TREAT?
Resurfacing your skin with a treatment in fractional laser skin resurfacing can treat an array of skin imperfections including:
- Reduces age spots
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Eliminates brown spots
- Treat warts
- Reduce enlarged oil glands on the nose
- Improves uneven skin tone
- Improves skin laxity
- Diminishes scares such as acne scars
- Improves a dull skin tone revealing a smoother, softer complexion
- Improves irregular pigmentation
- Stimulates collagen production
- Long-lasting results, lasting up to 5 years
HOW DOES THE TREATMENT WORK AT OCALA?
To ensure the treated skin receives proper healing, medications before and after treatment may be required. During the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied to the treated area in order to provide for a more comfortable procedure.
Post-treatment, the treated area may appear red and feel tender, resembling a sun burn. However, these side effects are normal and should subside within a few hours up to two days. As the skin heals, it may also appear raw and scab over. This too is considered normal however, by following proper skin care procedures your skin should heal with time, producing optimal results. We recommend for our clients to avoid excess sun exposure and follow proper skin care instructions, such as applying sun block, to ensure proper healing and achieve optimal results.
The results produce a dramatic improvement in the skin revealing a fresh complexion, free of blemishes. With proper skin care and healing, the treated skin will continue to show improvements for up to six months, with results typically lasting up to 5 years. Although, fine lines and age spots may return with time, individuals may opt to receive maintenance treatments to maintain optimal results.
Fractional laser skin resurfacing is not recommended for individuals who have received Accutane within the last six months or women who are pregnant or breast feeding. Clients should refrain from taking certain medications and supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen and Vitamin E, before treatment as these could increase the chance of bleeding post-treatment. We recommend for clients to refrain from smoking at least two weeks prior to and after treatment, as smoking can hinder the healing process of the skin.
COMPARE THE RESULTS TO IPL, AND THERE IS NO COMPARISON!
Both fractional laser skin resurfacing and IPL photofacial are incredibly effective at delivering real aesthetic results, but one treatment works on severe wrinkles and folds. Which one is it? Laser skin resurfacing! It can make a huge difference in your personal appearance, seeming to take years off your age!
